Part 3 - Hidden Treasures of Antique: Tibiao Secrets

People of Panay often associate Tibiao to bread because of the famous Tibiao bakeshop. But after reading this, you'll realize that there's more to be interested of to the said place. :) Tibiao is a town of Antique Province in the Philippines, blessed to have a very rich natural resources.

After our Malalison trip, we proceeded to this beautiful place and we conquered a wet, slippery and fun-filled adventure.

Thunderstorms were at its peak but turning back was a big NO NO! Our goal was to experience the "KAWA" spa and do Kayaking. We traveled almost an hour in a newly rehabilitated road which made our trip smooth flowing. But never expect to be that easy... I am talking about a mountainous place thus expect to have land falls anytime. :)

We didn't pursue the Kayaking since it was raining very hard but instead, we tried the "KAWA". What we were thinking before was its just nearby the main road but it proved us wrong. We walked a slippery trail for another 30-45 minutes. However, we didn't regret walking and the sceneries did not fail us.

Tibiao mini rice terraces.
Wading in waters...
Hopefully will not give us Leptospirosis... hehehe.. :)

The happy Us!
Survived the bridges!
I mean the log bridges. Haha. :)
After an almost an hour walk through the rain, at last we arrived to this wonderful place!

The beauty of nature at its best.
The handsome traveler at its best. Hahaha. :)
Bugtong bato is composed of 7 wonderful falls but we only reached the 1st falls... for safety reasons. Hehe. But if you're more adventurous than us, climb the 2nd to the last falls during a rainy day. Hehe. :)

The waters were so inviting thus we didn't miss it.
The blurry us... an aerial view.
The Dry Us.
The Wet Us.
And Me... alone. Hahaha. :D
To be far from the city buzzes was worry and stress free. The waters took away the negativities of the world.
Feeling young after a fresh water drink.

The day wasn't over yet for us. Our last stop was a relaxing spa experience.

Step 1. Boil
Step 2. Ready the ingredients.
Step 3. Combine all the ingredients and let it simmer.
Step 4. Serve while its hot.
That was one relaxing experience after a 2 day trip. We will surely come back to Antique and discover more of it. As mentioned, since it is a mountainous area, always expect some surprises. But we survived it!

In tibiao, you can experience Tibiao Fish Spa as well. :)

In summary, all that starts well shall end well. :)
This is the end of our 3 part Antique experience. Thanks and God bless, readers!

Part 2 - Hidden Treasures of Antique: Malalison Island

One fine sunny Sunday morning turned into a memorable day for us - me, Yen, Jucee and Kevin. Wonderful sunny morning - best time to conquer the island. Against the light. What's important is the background. Hehe. :) The pump boat ride was fun and smooth sailing. Our trip was blessed for it did not rain, hassle free and what we felt was all excitement. I was once fond of buying streetfoods. Turning back time, it was also one of the enjoyed past times I had with my friends. Street foods are ready to eat goodies sold in public places. Often, from a portable food booth, a cart or some in food trucks. According to a study from Food and Agriculture Organization, 2.5 billion people eat street food everyday. Today, people try and purchase street food for some reasons: It is sold for a reasonable price, it is flavorful, to experience an ethnic and authentic cuisines and some for a nostalgic experience. In the Philippines, street foods are very common too. Here are some of Pinoy favorite street foods to choose from: Calamares: deeply fried squid cut as rings covered dipped in egg and flour.
