Part1 - Pacquiao Country: The Adventure Begins

The main reason of my travel is to witness my dear friends' wedding. I felt lucky to be part of it since the venue is none other than, THE TUNA CAPITAL OF THE PHILIPPINES - GENERAL SANTOS CITY.

A month prior the most awaited date, I booked in advance a back and forth ticket at its PROMO rate at around 3000+ PhP.

A dream come true for me for I'm in Gen San now and is excited to explore the City.

Preparation before a travel is a must. "What to bring list" is very helpful. Tickets, personal belongings, itinerary list and enough pocket money must be inside your backpacks! Haha... :)

While waiting for my departure time at Iloilo International Airport, I met Dra. Gonzales (Arnold's mom - Arn was my med classmate) and this lovely couple.

April and Tamsi were my college friends.

They are on a tour and I wish them a super fun-filled time and experiences.

I was with Apple (Med classmate) and her mom on the plane and at around 2pm we left Iloilo with a smooth and safe flight. We arrived at 3:15pm in General Santos City.

Thanks for the nice fly... no delays!

From the airport, we rode a van for only 100 pesos which brought us to SM Gen San. The driver was so accomodating that sent us safely to our desired destination! However, I have to leave Apple and tita for my Gen San mission. Haha... :)

Meet Nang Apple. :)
I looked for an inn to stay and settled in Hotel San Marco, a reasonable and an affordable place to spend my days in Gen San (although there are more cheaper inns around the city).

After an hour rest, I went to TIONGSON ARCADE for a different SEAFOOD experience. :) Daniella's Diner is commendable and a must try for tourists.

Thanks for taking this picture. I look good here. Hahahah. :)

What did I eat?
Wow... My stomach was growling in hunger and excitement. :)

Looks yummy! YES! it's worth the wait!
A very buttery and delicious Tilapia Recipe was served - PINAPUTOKANG TILAPIA! I highly recommend this for you to try. :)

Tadahhh! The foil Surprise....a must try!

Thanks, Daniella for the sumptuous dinner, you made my night!

After my dinner, I went back to the hotel and rested for a few minutes then walked through the quite streets going to the Plaza located in front of their City Hall. People from different walks of life were still awake doing their own stuff.
I felt safe too because of the roving police officers in the area. I took some photos and went back to the hotel.

These completed my night and more to go :) Thank God for a very safe trip.

Part 2 and Part 3... coming next. :)

Part 2 - Hidden Treasures of Antique: Malalison Island

One fine sunny Sunday morning turned into a memorable day for us - me, Yen, Jucee and Kevin. Wonderful sunny morning - best time to conquer the island. Against the light. What's important is the background. Hehe. :) The pump boat ride was fun and smooth sailing. Our trip was blessed for it did not rain, hassle free and what we felt was all excitement. The boat can be rented from 700+ or more and will assist you back and forth Culasi town. We brought some breakfast meals for our lunch and thanks to Kevin for that! I and Cherry was planning before hand to explore the Island with our very dear frie

Manila Stories 3: Street Foods in Manila

I was once fond of buying streetfoods. Turning back time, it was also one of the enjoyed past times I had with my friends. Street foods are ready to eat goodies sold in public places. Often, from a portable food booth, a cart or some in food trucks. According to a study from Food and Agriculture Organization, 2.5 billion people eat street food everyday. Today, people try and purchase street food for some reasons: It is sold for a reasonable price, it is flavorful, to experience an ethnic and authentic cuisines and some for a nostalgic experience. In the Philippines, street foods are very common too. Here are some of Pinoy favorite street foods to choose from: Calamares: deeply fried squid cut as rings covered dipped in egg and flour. Price: P3.00 Boiled banana, banana turon (banana on a lumpia wrapper topped with mascovado sugar) and banana fritters. Price: P10.00 - P15.00 Fried chicken: deeply fried crispy chicken.
